 Overview

We are looking for energetic and enthusiastic engineering graduates and students to join us in manufacturing market pulp, containerboard and cartonboard at our Kinleith, Penrose, Tasman and Whakatane Mills.

Working on a large industrial site our graduates and summer students are involved in a wide variety of projects with a range of people. Routine maintenance is managed by our maintenance partner ABB. With no two projects being the same there are always new challenges as you manage the project from concept through to implementation.

Mechanical Engineer

Roles and responsibilities
Working alongside a team of experienced engineers you will take on the role of project controller for plant improvement or non routine maintenance projects. In this position you will be responsible for a wide range of projects from concept to commissioning; scoping the problem, designing a solution, applying for funding, ordering components, engaging contractors to complete the works and commissioning the project. As your confidence builds you will presented with the opportunity to individually manage projects of substantial value.

Electrical Engineer

Roles and responsibilities
Working with other engineers you will take on the role of project controller or assistant. In this position you will work on a variety of projects that vary from large motors with variable speed drives through to small scale instrumentation and control strategies. With a project you will be responsible for ordering components, working with electrical contractors during construction and installation, controlling and planning finances, maintaining and creating electrical drawings and the testing and commissioning.

• Instrumentation i.e. pressure, temperature, flow sensors and controllers
• Control automation i.e. PLC, DCS

Process Engineer

Roles and responsibilities
You will work on projects that improve our processes and evaluate new technology to continue the efficient use of our resources.  As a process engineer you will also get involved in the day to day running of the Mill by helping our area managers and troubleshooting process issues.

• Chemical plant producing chlorine products
• Lime kilns and causticising
• Continuous and batch digesters

• Recycle plant
• Paper machine
• Pulp driers

Process Control Engineer

Roles and responsibilities
You will carry out project work including process optimisation via process control, equipment upgrades, and installation of new plant, as well as supporting the operational needs of the plant. The wide variety of processes and equipment within the group’s area of operation provide a range of opportunities for learning and self advancement.  Individuals are able to further their professional careers, either as process control experts, or perhaps as future managers.
